  भगवान कृष्ण की द्वारका नगर और अरब सागर के बहरीन बंदरगाह के बीच निश्चित व्यापारिक सम्बन्ध थे।  ये सम्बन्ध हड़प्पा नगर के जन्म होने के बहुत पहले से ही स्थित थी।  द्वारका डूबने के बाद यहाँ के लोगों ने जब हड़प्पा और मोहनजोदड़ो में नया नगर बसाया, उस समय भी द्वारका के विस्थापित  लोगों  ने  बहरीन के साथ इस व्यापारिक सम्बन्ध को यथावत रखा। बहरीन, भगवान कृष्ण के  द्वारका नगर के साथ अपने व्यापारिक सम्बन्ध को बहुत ही महत्त्व देता था।  इसलिए द्वारका में प्रवेश करने वाले राजमुद्रा चिन्ह बहरीन में  मिले हैं।  केनॉएर से लेकर एरनेष्ट मैके जैसे लोगों ने, संस्कृत नहीं जानने के कारण  अनर्गल और गलत टिप्पणी  इस राजमुद्रा के विषय में की है।  महाभारत के शांति पर्व में भगवान कृष्ण के इस त्रिमुख वराह  मुद्रा की सूचना  दी गई है। बहरीन और बेट द्वारका के ये दोनों राजमुद्रा   द्वारका में ही बने हैं , इसलिए बहरीन के व्यापारी , द्वारकानगर में प्रवेश करने के पूर्व , बेट-द्वारका में इस राजमुद्रा को दिखाते थे । इसलिए सुमेर के साहित्य का यह "मेलूह" द्वारका है न की हड़प्पा या मोहनजोदड़ो।  बहरीन के व्यापारियों का सम
